Well, I finally got the body off the chassis. I have to store the body outside while I redo everything on the chassis. My question is, is there something I can treat the rusted areas on the bird cage, etc, while I work on the chassis so the rust doesn't get any worse before I can get to it?
Thanks in advance,
Bubs

Cover the body with a plastic tarp, and go to your hardware store, look for a product called Ospho, a rust neutralizing liquid...

Cover it with tarp [as mentioned above]; but leave some open space below for airflow to clear moisture buildup. If it is going to be "on the ground" for some time, you probably want to block it up so you don't rot the tires.

Permatex rust converter, spray can, autozone and others. I swear by that stuff. I got a rusty old jeep that was eat up. I soaked all the rust inside and out. I put half a dozen can of primer all over it. Its been sitting out side for 4-5 years and only just a couple of spots have rust coming back through the primer. 3-6 months and rust would have been coming back through every where with out it.
