I just woke up my Vette from a four year slumber(kids). My buddy is going to get my car painted for me!! (Nice Buddy) It still has original 77 factory tired looking red paint! I have been looking at Mid Amer and Zip for a set of new rubber wheather strip kits.. zip has a price that is around $100 less than Mid America. I am afraid of buying a cheap product that will deteriorate way before the life expectancy of the new paint. Does anyone have a good source for the original GM kits ... and how much $$$$$$$ am I looking at.

I've never had a problem with any of the stuff I've bought from ZIP products. Their quality is just as good as the stuff from Mid America, plus as a forum member you get a 5% discount from ZIP if you order online. There is a place that supplies most of the rubber products for Corvettes, they supply most of the reseller also. They are located at http://www.corvette-rubber.com/ Check their prices, compare them to Zip's. Then call Zip and ask them who supplies their weather stripping. They also have an excellent return policy.

There are two different sets of t-top strips depending on build date for '77.
Be sure to count how many plastic insert tabs you have before ordering.

I was also very satisfied with my corvette rubber order. Post again when your ready to install, lots of good tips can be found here on the forum.
I had some gotchas that some good people helped me out with.

I also used Corvette Rubber strips for my 82 CE. Loved the fit and great quality. Again, post when you start. A lot of us have done this before and can give tips. :seeya
