Default rear differential codes

I think the numbers on the bottom of my rear end are WV301E2. Do these make any sense its very hard to make out the numbers so they may be wrong.

Code options for 1975 are

AA 3.55:1
AB 3.70:1
AC 4.11:!
AY 2.73:1
AW 3.08:1
AX 3.36:1
LR 3.36:1

301 is the julian day of the year it was manufactured (September 20th)

The E indicates the posi unit is from Eaton and it was produced on second shift.

Since you have a W I'm going to guess it is actually AW and that you did not see the A to the left of it.

The letter immediately following the axle ratio is for the plant it came from. There is no V but there is a W for Warren Motive. The V looks like the second half of a W so it could easily be a W.

My 72 has what looks like a V also in the plant designation position.

So, it looks like you have a 3.08:1 ratio from Warren Motive made on September 20th 1974 with a posi unit supplied by the Eaton plant second shift.
