Default Automotive tech resources needed

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for automotive technical resources. I.E. books, web-sites, etc. that deal with engine, body, electrical, etc. repairs, rebuilds, etc. (That's a lot of "etc" in one sentence! :p: ) Now for some details. First, I'm a novice -- extreme newbie -- when it comes to auto repairs. My experience here is limited to one rad change, starter swaps, thermo swaps, brake pad changes... hmm... oh, and oil changes, of course ;) !! So, I am looking for beginner type resources that are not necessarily 'vette specific. But, while you are at it, I am also looking for 'vette specific resources (you guys -- er, people -- are great resources yourselves, but most of what you say is way above my head! ).

Basically I'm looking for this stuff in anticipation of getting my first 'vette. Yup, no 'vette yet, but don't hold that against me! I've actually been looking for 3+ years now, but I haven't found one (locally) that I like and fits my budget. I do know it'll be a 68-72 that's in good condition; as I've mentioned, I don't have enough experience to get a fixer-upper. But I will want to do some of my own maintenance and eventually start to tinker and eventually start to modify and then, well, who knows! In the meantime, I'll use my CRX as a guinea pig!! :D

Anyways, thanks for listening to me ramble on. Hope you can help.

Welcome! And a couple of suggestions.

How to restore and modify your Corvette - 68-82: by Richard Newton
Chevrolet Corvette Restoration Guide: by Lindsay Porter
Eclklers video on Fiberglass repair. http://www.ecklers.com http://www.glas-ra.com (Fiberglass repair instruction manuals) http://www.mortec.com (engine numbers and lots of links)

And ask away here on the forum. Lots of great people with a great deal of experience. I'd be lost without this place. :yesnod:
