I'm trying to dial my timing in, per Lar's instructions, but I don't have a dial back timing light. I've been to NAPA, Sears, AutoZone, and O'reillys, and looked at all of their lights. The most expensive ones have an "advance" button that it says is for precision tuning, but none of them say "dial back". Can someone tell me if these will provide the dial back function, or do I need to keep looking?

I have 2 timing lights: a Sears model (no dial-back) and a Snap-On with dial-back. I prefer to use timing tapes or fully degreed dampers. Just my 2 cents.
You can get a good dial back light with a built in tach for around $100. Why fool around with a tape? I can use mine on any of my 4 cars and all other cars too and never have to be concerned if it a tape or not.
Easy to use and has a tach, the arrow keys can be used to advance or decrease the displayed degrees.
To use, for example; I use the arrow key (advance) to bring the timing light mark on the dampener to zero and read the degree on the display for the timing advance at that rpm.
Sounds confusing, but with the timing light in hand and runs and it will all fall in place, or its something you should have others do for you.
