'69 Frame/suspension upgrade
I got the original frame and suspension dropped out from under the car last week, and the modified/strengthened frame slid in a couple days later.
I've put a narrowed '92 front suspension on it, with Wilwood brakes that will clear the stock C3 aluminum wheels that I like running on the street. The track wheels will still fit as well as they did before.
The rear is a narrowed combination of '84 knuckles (which package better than the '92 knuckles I started the project with), along with a narrowed C3 batwing. I presently have lengthened C3 "setup" halfshafts in there while I've been getting things put together. I'll be contracting out the narrowing of the aluminum C4 shafts I have, as this is a modification I don't feel qualified to do.
I'm using Wilwood brakes in the rear also due to the better packaging. The "backspacing" of the C4 sliding calipers just intruded too far inward toward the frame/shock area. I ended up having to make custom bearing carriers/caliper brackets to position the calipers in the available space.
I'm dropping the engine in this week, and doing the measurements to connect the steering column to the front steer rack. The #1 header pipe is a present concern for possible interference with the steering shaft. I won't know for sure until I get the engine and headers installed.

Welded up a custom bolt-in crossmember that positions the A-arms in about (IIRC) an inch and a half on each side (to duplicate the stock C3 suspension track width), and then had a custom width rack made to get rid of the bump steer issues I would have encountered if I had used the original width '92 rack.
Ok I see now, I didnt notice the coil-overs at first, and was wondering how you kept the transverse leaf. It makes a lot more sense to me now. It looks good, nice work

I was originally going to use the front leaf spring to continue the stock looking theme, but after working on it for an afternoon, I decided to abandon that route and go with coilovers. The rear spring was simple to narrow, and easy to swap out if I want to go with a different rate, but the fronts are a bunch more headache to rework to get the pivot points relocated, and the installation/removal time just doesn't cut it when you're trying to dial in a suspension. Hence, the coilovers.
