Default Spark plug shields?

I just removed the exhaust manifolds and am wondering how to remove the bendy metal things that look like they protect the spark plugs. Sorry for the lousy description. Can't seem to locate anything to remove them. BTW standard 350.

I'm adding hooker sidemounts and don't know if they stay or go.

If they are stock for 1970 model 350, I would like to have them.

Thx
Buddy

There is a 1/4 X 20 bolt in the side of the block under the shield that holds them on. If you eliminate them, be sure a palce some type of protection on your plugs wires as they will burn without the shields. I know from experience.

You can see the black bolt on the left shield in this pic. The bolt for the other one is behind the clutch pivot ball and can't be seen. Also, when I added my sidepipes, I left them off as they wouldn't clear the header.

I uesd these wire looms to keep the plug wires off the header pipes. After 4 years, there have been no burned wires or boots.
