I went out to opening day yesterday at the track. There was a really nice turbo C3 there running low 10's. It is a blow through carburetor set up.
Here is a link to some pics of the turbo C3.
That bad a$$. Years ago, Gale Banks used to market a twin turbo kit for C3 small blocks.
I remember an article with a test car, a 69 coupe that was running high 10's at 130mph
with no traction. Wish I could find that mag and pics today to get the details of the mods.
If you end up talking to him sometime, post a few technical details.
Iam at the start of a twin turbo build on my 78 vette, I bought a new custom built sbc 383, built to handle big power and the correct type of cam snaft profile, etc, etc, which is the most important part, no point putting boost in a engine that cant handle it
I will keep some tech info coming as I build my project

I spoke with him in the staging lanes while we were in the hurry up and wait mode.If you have ever been in the lanes waiting to run you know what I'm referring to. The car is bacisally a stock C3 nothing extravagant, but it eas immaculate. Mild small block with the lower end set up for the boost from the turbo. Factory aluminum diff with 3.08 gears, turbo 350 trans, 3000 rpm converter, custom
holley blow through carb. The guy did all of thr fab work himself and the work is georgrous. Thr homemade headers facing upward and the collectord facing forward were a work of art. He has a 90mm turbo mounted directly in front of the water pump wiyh some very ingenious brackets, the entire set up was very sanitary. The paint work on the car was flawless as well as the paint under the hood, The firewall, inner fenders, A-Arms and frame rails was a nice as the exrerrior, He had one of the nicest 6 point roll cages that I have ever seen in a C3. I was so nice it looked as if came from the factory that way.
I will pick his brain a little more next week to find out more info to share with you guys.
Regards,
John
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
THere you go, stock '80 rear end going down the 1/4 mile with a 3.08 gear in 10 seconds, who woulda thunk that ? Maybe that's why mine hasn't broke yet with over 600ft/lbs of torque

Have you made any mods to your aluminum rear end for stregbth? I am going to a 3.73 gear in my diff. within the next week or so. When I get a lirttle time from work ( I travel weekly for work and am only home on weekends...sometimes) I've been leaning toward the steel cap conversion to get as much strength as possible from my aluminum unit. Everyone I speak to on the aluninum rear say get rid of ot for a iron unit. I would like to do that but have been spending money elsewhere and can't do the iron unit at the moment. I'm not putting any where near the 600ftlbs of torque through mine like you are, yet. But the 250 shot fogger will put me really close... I hope.
The guy I met with the turbo says he has only had minor failures with his namely u-joints and 1 spider shaft in three years of thrashing the car.
I can only hope to have the success that you and he have had with the aluminum rear.
