Backorder from Summit?

Backorder from Summit?
Just tried to order a cam from Summit, got a message that said it was backordered. And that it would ship on 12/30/99, WTF is that?
So I ordered it fom Jegs and they had free shipping.
Ordered Crane Energizer 266H for my stock L48.
The H284-12 that I put in 3 weeks ago isn`t what I was looking for.
It had no bottom end, although it did go from 50 to 110 fairly quickly.
I don`t think I have enough compression to make that cam work.
Don`t you just love to do things twice? Oh well I guess that`s what winter is for. All the hours I`m spending now should give me plenty of driving time when spring comes. What was it I read somewhere, 4 hours of work for every 1 hour of driving time?

Count your blessings :) At least they told you it was out of stock rather than give you some bs. The cam you ordered is much better suited to a stocker and will be well worth the effort to redo it. As you've discovered, cam choice is critical and a little education before chosing beats the hell out of trial and error. There's a lesson here for others considering a cam swap: Unless you're absolutly certain of your choice, get advice BEFORE you choose!
