You have to measure the back spacing. I know for the C5 wheels I am running on my 76, it required 3 inch wheel adapters on the rear, and 2.5 inch on the front.

If I'm not mistaken, C6 wheels are not only wider, but have less backspacing as well.

Used to have '92 vette wheels on my '72, but went to '89 wheels instead, same size.....they all take the 2.5" VBP wheel adapters, NOT SPACERS....it takes ten lugnuts to get to the rotor with these adapters.....

I would suppose you need to measure your back spacing on the stock wheels, and the C5 wheels, and you want the same wheel centerline, to keep bearing/suspension loading/wear down to stock design limits....

so the first point of problem is the Ebrake bracket on the t-arms...moved to top or behind rotor, that gets you an extra 3/4 inch to the inside which puts the tire about 1/4 inch off the t-arm and about the same off any stockish sway bar setup I know of....now you can eliminate the bar, and go to offset arms, and get wider in there, but you also need concerned over the fenders......

from what I hear 10" of rim width as about all you can go in the rear...without going crazy....

Even at 10", the load on the bearings is tremendous

I put a set of '81 wheels on my '72 BB vert. I think they look pretty good considering how ugly my rally wheels were.

I have them on my '76. I used 2.5" front and rear. You will need offset TA's also. The clearence on the rears is tight, I may add an additional 1/8" depending on how they sit after alignment. Also, I was not happy about how the adaptors looked. You could see the edges of the holes near the rim. I machined some rings into mine to make the transition look smooth. My adaptors are currently getting anodized but I can post a pic when I get them back. Also, if you go with C6 rims, upgrade the front brakes. I have C6 brakes. Wilwood is another option....gp
