Default Rear window trim removal

Anyone offer any advice on how to remove the outside trim piece from the front and rear windows of an 81 vette. I tried a search and could no threads which offered any help. I am stripping the car for paint and want to send these out for powdercoating

I just finished removing the windshield trim on my 1980. You're right that there's not much out there to draw information from. The fellows at Wilcox gave me some good advice though.

First of all, the side trim on the windshield is screwed on. Take off the rubber seal from the side window, and unscrew the molding. The whole trim piece should come off the pillar. Be sure to get all the screws since they might be covered over with sealant. I think there were 5 screws (not sure).

With the side molding off, the trim piece across the top can be removed. This is clipped on with no screws. I used the handle end of a tooth brush to very gently pry the trim off. Go across the whole piece a little at a time. Remember, if you bend it, it cannot be replaced. No one seems to offer that part. Just work slow with soft tools. You may be able to get your fingers underneath the trim and pull that way too. Good luck.
