Default Fuel Pump Question
Is it possible for a fuel pump to leak fuel into the crank case?

Yes, if it is an engine mounted/driven fuel pump. The diaphram can leak and cause gas to leak into the crankcase and dilute the oil. You will probably be able to smell gas off the dipstick or out of the PCV or breather.

If you even think that might be the case, disconnect the battery and clamp off the fuel inlet line to the pump.
