What bonding glue should I use for reinstalling front clip on a 77.
Whats up with search engine type in front clip came up with everything but and only 8 pages?
I would definitely recommend you buy the Fusor Pneumatic 300 mL Dispensing Gun - 304 if you are going to put a front end on. The gun sells for close to $300 as opposed to the manual gun, but it's going to take 5 tubes to put that front end on and unless you're Arnold, your arms aren't going to get it. Some folks say if you heat the Fusor the manual guns will work, but my shop uses the pneumatic and with the pressure they use on the gun, I don't think you're going to like trying the manual gun.
If you use the Fusor 127EZ you can do it with the hand gun, but if you talk to the Fusor rep, they recommend for front ends to use their Fusor T-21 which is much thicker and much stronger and it is almost impossible to do with the hand gun. I recommend you talk to one of the Fusor reps to get the best info, but Fusor is definitely the way to go.
We got the gun through NAPA and they sold it to us for $150 if we bought 5 tubes of Fusor so you might try to see if they'll give you a better price. When you're done, you may be able to sell it to a shop that uses Fusor (most do), many don't have the pneumatic gun and would love to get their hands on one for less than full price.
I used the 127ez and the manual gun. I used two tubes of the adhesive and had some left over in the second tube. That bonded the front end to the cowl, and the inner fenders to the front clip. A year later and still OK.
