Finally, I started the engine yesterday after six months, close to $4000, and countless hours rebuilding the engine, tranny, and many other small things. It sounded so great to hear that engine again. Oil pressure looked good; pegged the gage at first and after the break in period down to about 50 psi. I have at least one lifter that didn't pump up, but I'm going to adjust that one again today. The engine fired right up with the new HEI and the carb setup that Lars did. (Thanks Lars) Now it's on to cleaning up all the loose ends and waiting for the weather to warm up and stay warm (it was 50 degrees in Michigan this weekend). To everyone else still working, keep plugging because the sound of hearing it fire up after so long is unbelievable.
I'll see some of you cruising the streets of Michigan this year.
I was able to take it for a quick break in spin, and you're right, it felt so good to be driving it again. It makes me wonder how I ever got along without this car. :D

Re: Finally got it fired!!! (bb69)
Congratulations on the fire!!! I hope mine goes so well.
I am just now getting started with my engine rebuild. I hope to have the engine, front suspension and the frame painted by the time spring rolls around. Wish me luck.
