I am looking for feedback on which roller tip rockers for a big block chevy are the best in terms of durability, accuretness and strength. I see some are made of 4320 and others are 6820 chrrome moly steeel, anybody know anything about those 2 metals and which is better for rocker arms. I cannot run full roller rockers (illegal in pure stock drags), so I do not need any suggestions on those
Majority of the friction is within the trunnion and not at tip. Take a look at GMPP's hottest, strongest motors ... they put the roller in the trunnion but not in tip.
If you cannot use full rollers, Don't use the rollertips.
Instead, use a good quality stamped shoe rocker that has been specially treated to reduce friction.
Look into "REM" (rare earth metal chemical micropolish) and some ceramic coatings. Howard's Cams & Competition Products used to sell em for sbc ... dunno BBC. Many companies offer to REM treat your parts ... look it up. Most good rear gears in real racecars are REM. I'd bet dollars to donuts a good stamped REM shoe rocker will lose less to friction than the best Non-REM rollertip.
As for the rollertips themselves, Comp Cams rollertip design is superior to the others' rollertips.
I do Not think you can practically REM / ceramize (sp?) a rollertip because each rocker is an assembly & not separate pieces.

comp cams roller tips are high quality and could add some power depending on how accurate your original rockers are....jackson is correct on trunion friction that's why i always use the slotted rocker ***** for more oil supply at these critical areas.....i think the slottted ones come with thw comp versions......
