Timing issues???

OK, after many attempts and variations, I finally have it running somewhat. I think I was watching the wrong rocker arm (exhaust) when I was finding TDC and that was the root of the issues, although I'm not entirely positive about that either. Anyways, it's running, but I'm not convinced it's running quite right yet. I'll get it smoothed out eventually...unfortunately I think I killed my starter in the process. It's still working intermittently, but most of the time I can just hear it spin and not engage the flywheel. I'll crawl under and have a look tomorrow.
Thanks for all the help, guys. Really appreciate it. Still have plenty of time to get the kinks worked out...just got a fresh 6 inches of snow yesterday!
