I have a 700R4 trans I would like to put in my 74, have any of you done this? I have read a lot about replacing a 350 but nothing on changing out a 400. Do you have to cut out the crossmember for clearance? Will the 700 mounting bolts fit or does the mount have to be moved back?
you need to get the out put extension with the hole for the transmission mount it should fit right with the hole in the cross member where the 400 is bolt
