Default got a supercharger question

just picked up an intake manifold and a blower off of ebay. was pulling the blower apart to check everything out and thought, you know i better check to make sure it fits the manifold.. well went to stick it on there and the blower case is way smaller then the manifold.. is there an adapter that goes between the case and the manifold? what am i missing here?

I'll bite. We need more information. BB or SB, stock intake or aftermarket, what kind/model of blower. That will get us started anyway.

its a Cragar BB manifold. the blower itself, im not too sure what it came from. my guess is that it may have come off of an old 2 stroke detroit diesel.. i can get the numbers off of the ends if that would help?

The blower will most likely prove to be either a 6-71 or 8-71, the latter being about as long as the entire manifold itself. An 8-71 should fit directly onto the Cragar manifold w/o need of an adapter (as illustrated in the photo below), but I'm not 100% sure about a 6-71. In any event, before ever using it, you'd be well advised to have someone like BDS go thru it. Hope that helps.

ok, then the guy i bought this manifold from told me wrong. he said it was for a 671. but its wider than the blower is, and looking at your pic shows me that its def for an 871. i took a few pics to show, but i dont know how to post them up on here..

Please stop buying blowers from old Detroit Diesel engines.
This is what the old old racers use to do because nothing else was available, these cast iron boat ankers are totally different from todays street or race blowers, You will spend more time and money trying to adapt it to your vehicle and still have nothing but a boat anker

This will show you how to post pictures. I've worked on many Detroit Diesel engines, never saw one with a cast iron blower.

Go to photobucket.com and open a free account. Upload your pictures. Below each picture will be 4 lines, the bottom line is img code. Right click on the img code, choose copy. Go to your post and right click and choose paste. Your picture will appear when you post or when you preview it. However if you ever move or re-label that pic in photobucket, then it will not appear in the posts that it was used in.

I agree.....

I don't know what blower that is but it has nothing in common with that manifold. There's not an adapter on the planet that would make it work, nor should you want to.

I'm afraid that I don't have any constructive suggestions for that.
