Humm....ya know sandblasting will leave a rough finish? You'll have to polish it afterwards OR paint it....or else its gonna get dirty way too easily with all the pores it'll create.

and how much do you need? I saw Dupont Blast Abrasive for $4.99 a pound on Harbor Frieght's website. I am not sure what type of finish it would provide. Has anyone sandblasted the spoked portion of aluminum rims i.e. Torque Thrust? if so what type of media did you use?

Head to Home Depot and buy a 50lb bag of play sand for about $2.50. Then run the sand through a small sifter for the rocks and things. After that you can start blasting. It works great and doesn't leave a really ruff finish. After you prime overtop of the finish it leaves the primer fills in the holes and it's completely smooth. :yesnod: Don't waste your money on abrasive sand when there's dirt cheap stuff that works just as good.
