Default early C3 gas door problem

Has anyone use a "latching mechansim" on the door so it stays down? I want to used the bumper holes to secure the door so it doesn't vibrate.

Hi B72,
I take from your question that your fuel door SPRING isn't working or missing. They are available, and pretty easy to replace.

Alan

The spring is in place and works pretty well to hold the door up, but the tension to hold the door down is week. I'd like to have a way to hold it down.

when the hinge and spring are working properly it will hold the door closed with plenty of force. i would fix it the correct way and not bubba it.

I'm not sure about the 72 but the 69 uses two plastic spring loaded tips to latch the fuel door down. They can wear down and not hold it anymore. I made new pins for mine and it works great now.
