I rebuilt the TH400, put it back in the car dry. Filled the trans to max capacity. started the car and let it run for a few seconds. filled it again, ran for a few seconds. till it was full. now the fluid is pink. Will the air bubles settle out?
Are you sure it's just aerated?
Be certain you haven't sprung a leak in the trans cooler inside the radiator. Coolant leaking into trans under pressure.
I've had that occur in another vehicle (not the vette) and required a complete trans rebuild.
It happens with rebuilds, and yes it will settle out. In the process of purging air with fluid it can get a little aerated. Let it sit overnight, then take it for a short, gentle drive tomorrow then recheck the level. If it's still aerated, then start worrying.
