As soon as the rear of your Vette sits low enough to look cool the spring is usually worn out.

What is the angle on the half shafts ?

The halfshafts are some 10š upwards I would say.... and the leaf is horizontal. I need to get the rear higher and considering geting a composite leaf of medium strengh maybe some 360 Lbs. Any recomedation I will really apprecite. Thank You.

If you spring is horizontal it is woren out. I would go with the composite spring, they give a better ride.

Default rear leaf spring

I kept with a stock replacement, and the photo shows the solid "new" arch as opposed to the worn-out "old" leaf spring. By the way, the old spring was essentially flat when installed and under load. Thirty eight plus years will do that to you.

I can't speak to the composite spring difference since I didn't go that route, but plenty others have.

If it is the TRW style spring, you will have ride height problems in the rear. Do you know what spring you bought?

Yes itīs the TRW style spring since I have had height problems (too low) since I bought the car I hope if it becomes too high it will be easier to lower a little. Also the body of my car probably weights more than the the 79 vette original, take a look at the picture in my profile, our body is a replica of a 1936 Mercedes 540K, so maybe I should be in the Mercevette forum but havenīt found it yet.
