Okay, got my carburator off and there are a lot of numbers on it. Which ones are important concerning identification? These numbers are what I have at present, 6543, 47792, and either G or 6 - R3752. Any of these numbers mean anything? All help appreciated. Also too, the guy at local parts house told me all Holley double pumpers are the same rebuild kit. This true?
You need the list number off the air horn. That's all.
All Double Pumper kits are NOT the same.
I have a box full of these and there is variance.
For example.... the 6211 spread bore is a "double pumper" model 4165 spreadbore.
The throttle body to main body gasket and the base to intake gasket are two obvious differences.
Get the LIST number off the airhorn & post it.... if the air horn has been milled off (or was not there originally), and the LIST number is not stamped somewhere else on the body, then you may have a problem.
Thanks Tom454! I wasn't able to reply yesterday for some reason it just wasn't working. Anyway, I found the number I bellieve you were talking about although it isn't quite what I expected. I checked it against the Black Book and its not even similar. Can anyone identify exactly what this carburator came off of and what size it is? LIST 4779-2 3157.
It's a mechanical-secondary model 4150 with 750cfm. It wouldn't have a factory application. The Holley re-new kit number is 37-485. It uses a 70 primary jet and an 80 secondary jet. You can get all of this from Holley's web site.
