what i thought was fixed on my quadrajet, isn't. how in the hell can a vehicle run perfect one minute and then terrible the next and perfect the next. as i have posted in the past, i had a carb kit put in for the four barrel wasn't working. today i took it for a cruise for we had beautiful weather today. was running around 55 and thought i would run a little faster. pushed down on the accelerator and could feel a sluggish response. so i floored it and it started surging real bad. anyway i held it to the floor and around 4000 rpm she kicked in and ran like a stripped _ _ _ ape. i quickly shut her down for i didnt want things to blow. now i am back to where i started. it will not idle. set the idle up and it runs real rough. do not know what to do anymore. what all do i have to do to get rid of this computer controlled carb and go back to the old fashion carb and vaccum advance. i have been reading that i have to change intake, carb, distributor etc. someone please give a solution to this problem. and on top of all of this, i also found out that my heater core is leaking. i just love this 81!!!!!!!!!!! thanks namvet
