Air cleaner expert needed
I have just purchased an air cleaner with a hood seal adaptor metal ring on ebay for a 1973 454 BB. Can anyone tell me how I can know if it is the correct one for a big block. I have never seen the sealing ring for a BB advertised for sale at any of the usual corvette part suppliers and I have never seen onein the flesh. I have been told that the BB ring is not round but offset, the one I have received is round, any help would be helpful.

My AIMS manual does show a different part number for the Flange;

LS4 #330527
All the rest of the parts are the same. I would think that the difference may be in the height because of the hood clearance.

I also own a 73 BB. the difference is that the BB ring is ofset (not round) and the SB is round. The is to allow the hood to close and properly seal to gasket. The carb on the BB is in a different location (sits further forward) due to the larger engine.
