Stuck Parts
OK I give! How do I get these shock mounts off the trailing arms and get the strut rod bolts out. I have gone thru 2 cans of PB Blaster and still won't budge, HELP!

You do have the tool to drive the shock mounts out? Try putting a big clamp just above the bolts on the fork and backing it up with a BIG hammer. My shock mounts were stuck too. I used Hoppe's #9 gun solvent and the clamp. Worked for me.
As you drive on the end of the mount, it's stuck in both arms of the bearing carrier. When you drive on it, the arms flex and take away the impact. That's why the clamp might work.

One of the most difficult jobs to do on a C3. You can spend a lot of $ on the special tool or get a pipe cap from the hardware store for a few $ that will do the same thing. Not sure of the size but it shouldn't be hard to figure out. There is a sleeve in the strut rod bushing that tends to rust-weld itself to the shock mount. You may or may not be able to re-use the mount once you get it off - sometimes the threads just get ruined. You probably need to replace the strut rod bushings anyway so you could torch out the rubber and spray more PB in there. You need something like a 5 or 8 lb sledge hammer to get the mounts loose. I removed them from my 72 with the body off and I still had to pound the snot out of them with a sledge hammer to get them loose. Ended up having to buy 1 new one because the threads on one side got wrecked. Good luck.
