I want to connect the reverse lights up to my newly installed TKO-600. The little connectors on the transmission look like ribbed studs but I'm not sure where to find some connectors to hook up to them. They look like maybe the same kind of connector that the stock fuel sender uses. Like a little boot that slips over the stud. I don't have any of my stock reverse light wiring in the car so I'm just running a switched power wire from the cockpit to the switch on the tranny, and then out back to my lights.
That switch is terrible. The connecters fall off and there is no way to secure them. I actually soldered mine on but that was permanent and I had to cut them to get it off. Mike Forte of Fortes parts has this switch which I think I will try. Much better connecter and it is a weather pack connecter. Scroll down the list and you will see the reverse light switch and connecter.

I thought those connectors were threaded at first when I put my TKO in mine. I tried and tried to get a number 10 brass nut on there with no luck. I then tried to use the connectors that came with the trans and that worked for a while. I kept loosing my backups. Seems those connectors do not want to stay put. I too eventually wound up soldering my wires to the studs and have not had a problem with the wires falling off again.
Who needs back up lights when doing a burnout anyway!!

The solder is great until you have to remove the transmission. I just cut the wires. I think I'll order a switch from Fortes. I talked to Rich at Keisler to see if they have them and he said they do not have that switch with the weather pack connector.
I've been using electrical butt connectors, I just left the other end uncrimped and pushed it on the stud. It's a snug fit and I haven't had any problems in four years. Sorry for the blurry foto...
I just hammered what was there on, haven't come off yet
The probelm is when you have to take it off. The connectors get opened up and they fall off onto the exhaust and burn. I had this happen at the strip a few years ago. I thought the car was on fire. I have had my trans out so many times now I needed a good connector that would come apart and snap back together. This looks like it will work good. I'll be at Napa tomorrow
I soldered the wires directly on the terminals, then installed those bullet electrical connectors in the wire leads for servicing. Kind of hard to see it below...the blue and red connectors peeking out of my wire loom. Of couse any connector will do the trick, go for a weather poof version if a dailly driver.
