Default Vortec Head Question

I have a 305 Vortec motor out of a work van. Are the 305 Vortec heads the same as 350 Vortec heads? Thinking of installing them on my 76 Stingray.

I think they're smaller (56 vs 64?) but will work.
I have a Olds TBI 305 I was thinking of using. But I don't think the Olds heads on a chevy block would work.

The correct Vortec Heads are $289 each at Jegs or Summit.

From what I've heard they are not the same. You are right about them having smaller combustion chambers. The also have smaller runners so they dont flow as well. They will bump your compression ratio up quite a bit but they arent going to flow like the 350 heads. I would try and find a set of 350 (062) heads especially if you are planning on swapping pistons.

"Attfay Elleybay" what year are the heads off of, I think the olds 305 motors were the same as the chevys, check the head numbers at mortec.com to be sure though
