Hi all...
I'm a 69 Roadster newbie to this forum, I'm wanting to know
if I can replace the old Muncie linkage and shifter without taking out
the Tranny and some steps on doing that.....?
I have not got my engine and 4-speed installed yet so I cant be much help. I put my new hurst shifter and linkage with the trans on a stand. Theres not much to it. put your trans levers in neutral, bolt on your new shifter and put the plastic pin in it that comes with it, it holds the shifter levers in place, then just ajust the linkage rods till they fit on the trans levers. The shifter comes with instructions and illustration. Doing it in the car will be tight is all and you will have to take the console apart somewhat. I'm not sure if you will have to take the bolts out of the rear mount to drop the trans down for more room or if that will even help or be needed.

Yes, it can be done with out removing the trannie. Gets a little tight installing the mounting bolts from the shifter assembly to the mounting plate, but can be done. You can even get the 2 shift lever bolts installed without taking the console apart. Need small fingers for it.
