carb cycle
on my 81, isnt the carb supposed to cycle when the key is turned on. been having a big idling and surging problem when you get into it to wot. thinking maybe the m/c solenoid is bad. help please. namvet

I'm going from memory here but I think I had the idling problem on an 84 Camaro. I'm not sure about the WOT because I don't think I did that while I had the problem. Anyway, it would hardly idle at all. What I did to test the solenoid was to disconnect the electrical connection. It idled good and actually drove good after that without the connection but it did turn on the check engine light. I never did fix it because I had just gotten my Corvette and I gave the Camaro to my son. I also gave him my repair manuals so I can't look anything up.
