For many parts it doesn't make much difference. I would expect emblems to fall in that category. The thing to watch our for with 30+ year old parts is that they may have become brittle and more likely to fall apart than be successfully installed undamaged, i.e. urethane bumpers.

A few things have been improved upon by modern manufacturing, etc. so NOS isn't as good. For example the vacuum override switch for the headlights. Specifically, the vacuum ports the hoses connect to were individual parts. The ports were pressed into the switch body. I would assume it was sealed into the body at some point but over time the sealant dried out and the switch leaked. When I went to replace it the port came out of the switch, staying in the hose itself. The new replacement part was a single one piece body of molded plastic. The ports and body being one piece eliminated the leak problem I had on my original switch.

not in reference to Vettes obivously, but in regard to metal body panels on other cars, NOS is almost always the best way to go, and is significantly more expensive than repro parts. I agree that some parts, NOS may may not make a whole lot of difference.

I highly doubt that you have found genuine NOS parts, those disappeared years ago. But you never know.

if that is actually new over stock, new old stock, from the 70's then 40 bucks is a steal. but more then likely its NOS from the early -mid 90's and no longer made by GM anymore.

Oh, yea I'll take NOS stuff over stuff from <<insert Vette Vendor here>> stuff any day of the week, when available.

N.O.S. Yes especially for chome like your emblems you got. They chromed things right back then. Nickle then copper and then the chrome. Things made today they skip the copper part and they'll pit. New old stock is always the better way to go on anything.

Many aftermarket interior pieces that I have bought have been extremely disappointing in fitment.

No luck on the NOS although the Wilcox page said NOS... they are out of those items. Just talked to them and I got the Trim Parts after-market ones instead... Hope they are OK!
