Default 1973 Heater Hose Routing

This seems like it should be so easy. I've checked the AIM and tried to look for pictures, but couldn't find a great picture. Does the heater hose attached to the top of the intake manifold go on top or under the carburetor supply line. When I route it under the carb line it pinches the hose. When I route it over the carb line it is a very tight fit between the AIR pump and carb line. How isyour 73 heater hose routed? L48, Manual, non-a/c,. Thanks, Dean

Should over the gas supply line and behind (not under) the smog pump.

Purchase an elbow fitting for the manifold. You can then route the hose between the front of the valve cover and the water pump. A cheap elbow can be purchased from Home Depot. Look in the plumbing dept. and purchase a 1/2" "street elbow" - about $3. It has a male thread on one end and a female on the other. File down the manufacturing marks, lettering and ridges and paint it the color of the manifold. Or, you can purchase a chrome one for about $40.00.
