Default need some help before i break something

im trying to remove the main steering bar, not sure of its exact name. its the big bar that the tie rods bolt to, and its self is bolted to the steering box and the idler arm.

i dont mind beating on the bolts where it bolts to the idler arm, seeing as im replacing that, but im worried about beating on the bolt that connects it to the steering box.

is there a puller or something out there to remove this? just use a pickle fork? beat the ever living hell out of it with the biggest hammer i can get and be done with it?

All the steering linkage pieces should come apart using the pickle fork. Is it the center bar (relay rod) shown in the pic below?

Default steering

You can rent a tool called a knucle buster at most auto supply stores. Works great.

I used a normal length pickle fork, and went in from the wheelwell. A couple of whacks, and it popped right off!
