Question....
Positive wire on a radio to hot power wire, then plug in the antenna,
does the antenna act as a ground and the radio will play???
On a 70?

Hi R70S,
Why don't you PM... Jerry - Radio Guy... I'm pretty sure he can help you out with some info.
Regards,
Alan

Connect radio to gnd. The antenna is actually half & should be grounded as it uses the metal frame as the other half- ground plane.

R70S, the center lug on the power connector on the side of the radio is for a ground connection. The lug towards the front of the radio is +12 volts for the radio power and the lug towards the rear is for the dial lamp and is powered from the dash lighting circuit.

As Ganey said, make sure you have a ground connection back to your battery from the radio case one way or the other. There are plenty of grounding points under the dash.

Good luck!

Jerry
