Default Picture request

Could some post a picture, or email me one, of your battery tie down setup in your C3? Mine is missing all of the hardware for it.

Thanks

I don't have a photo handy, but in my '82 the battery restraint boils down to a little plastic/composite block with a hole in it, and a bolt that goes through and threads into a nut in the floorpan.

The battery has slots along the bottom. The front slot engages into something in the front of the compartment, and the bolt/block pushes into the back slot.

Hope this helps.

-Noel

Rhys, do you have the AIM or would you like a picture?

Mine were actually busted out when I got it. I bought new rivets (the big fat suckers) and hammered them in. Then I bought a new clamp and bolt.

One edge of the battery gets tucked under the lip in the front, then a clamp and bolt go behind the battery if I'm remembering correctly. Poor car has been covered since mid-october. It's killing me! :mad

mine works the same as described as above, however I had to put my battery up on a block in the compartment, because before I fixed my rear window leak, it used to leak and the water ran down into the batt compartment.

Now I have the leak fixed, but I havn't had time to fix the setup and put it back to normal.

Hay Rhys, it's on page 450 of the AIM, but it only shows the plastic block, it needs a 5/16-18x 2 bolt that goes through it, into the screw block in the base plate.

Bubba long since trashed mine....but what you're describing sounds a lot like the battery hold downs GM used on my '89 Sub, '78 Pontiac and '86 Pontiac....maybe even my '67 Firebird.

I think I still have a left over screw & Rubber hub. If you want I'll take a look later.

What are the dimensions of the battery? What brand? My battery doesn't seem to have the lip to tuck under anything at the bottom. I would love to be able to use the hold down for it, just need the right battery.

Thanks, you're quick. BTW, I posted a reply to your cat converter topic. Probably not quite what you wanted, but maybe it will help.

Tried to send you an email and it bounced. My cost for the hold down is less than $2 and I have to order some other stuff anyway. No need to trouble you to ship it. It will cost you more than it will me.

Thanks for going through the trouble though.
