I'll try to get a chance to do a few calculations later tonight. I'll need to check the specs on the heads, chamber volume and flow rates.

how much hp would he potentially lose if he ran 1.5 rockers instead of 1.6?

just asking because im going to be running almost the same set up but with

286HR comp cam
stealth intake
and 1.5 rockers

Your peak horsepower may be similar, but your torque curve will be different (flatter, and will pull better from lower RPM's due to roller design). Yours won't sound as radical (less duration), but it won't need as much converter in an automatic. My guess is about 5 HP potential gain with 1.6's, as these cams seem to be optimized well for their combos.

Hey white lightning'
Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I ran your specs but only used 1.5 rockers.
I am a little unsure how to rate your intake..Single plane std. flow or single plane high flow so i ran it with both.

Single plane std. flow:
Max. H/P = 441 @ 6000 RPM
Max. T/Q = 436 @ 4500 RPM

Single plans high flow:

Max. H/P = 483 @ 6500 RPM
Max. T/Q = 446 @ 5000 RPM.

Hopes this helps. A roller cam would help you out some, but those AFR's are some head. I am also building a 383, but I am using Edelbrock E- Tec 200cc. I can't hit that H/P klevel. I am still playing with diffrent cams.
Good luck
Clyde

thanks for the replies guys. and thanks so much Clyde.
im hoping my intake counts as a high flow because i was shooting for at least 475..but 44-450 will work for now if not. and as for a roller cam...i would like to. i just cant see speeding the money at this time. in the next year or 2 im going to change cams and add a procharger supercharger, so i may go roller then..we'll see.
again tho..thanks guys.
