In my haste I took the Hurst shifter apart without taking pictures on how it was assembled. Does anyone have any pictures of the order and orientation of the parts for assembly? I will call Hurst today but heard they are not too great with customer service. They may not want to tell me.
I called Hurst and what I hear on the forum is true. They are a messed up company. Here is the short version about me trying to get a assembly drawing.
They do not have anything they can give me.
Even their ONLY repair guy repairs them by memory and experience, no documents. He was proud of that.
I asked about their assembly line documentation. They said they cannot give me one from there because people steal and copy their design.
Thats c$@P because if I wanted to steal their design I would buy one and reverse engineer it. A assembly of this simple shifter is not much in the way of intellectual property. hmmmmmmmm.
Anyway, If anyone has documented reassembling one these I would appreciate a little guidance. I just need to know the orientation and order of the plates and also of the slides between the plates.
