Those wheels look great too! I saw someone with the torq thrust D. These look the same, other than the 5 spoke area's dark gray

Re: torq thrust wheels (LakotasRose)
The TT-D's were my first choice too. However, the inherent design of the back of the wheel requires the use of spacers. The spokes on the TT-D's curve inward and hit the calipers. I didn't want to use spacers and the larges was 15 inches, so I opted for the 16x8, TT-2's instead. Spacers are also illegal in PA!
Halibrand also has a wheel similar to the TT-D but limited size & backspacing availability. I tried their 5-spoke Halicoated design in the 16x8 size with 4.5 in backspacing. To fit my Vette they machined about 1/4 inch from the back of the spokes(charge $25). This woulda worked, but would have required trimming about 1/4 inch from the rear spring and relocating the parking brake bracket. Those weren't that big of a deal, I just didn't want to take on another modification project when I was already in the middle of rebuilding my front suspension.
Hi Dennis, just noticed your post. Mine are still in the box. I did put them on long enough to measure up for spacers. They are a little bit of a pain to deal with, but they were the "period look" I wanted. They are also built heavier than the TT-II's. Spacers will be 3/8" thick, and will need longer lug studs. Next on my to do list is replacing trailing arms and spindles, so I'll take care of the studs then. One thing I would caution you on is the backspacing. At 3.75 stock, it'll kick your wheels out a little. I have flares all around mine, so it was part of the plan to fill 'em up. I've got 15x10's for the back and 15x8.5 for the front.
As mentioned above, there are similar wheels available that don't require the mods. I guess I just like doing stuff the hard way. :D
They are American Racing Torq Thrust D's. They do make a 10" wide, 15" rim. If you need a part number, it's from Summit Racing, ARE-1055161 . The 8.5's are ARE-1055861.
Just for grins :D :D I bought the BFG 325/50/15 Drag radials to complete the look. ;)
I have 16"x8" reproductions of the original TTDs on my '74...my stupid ISP seems to be having server problems again, because when I went to look for a picture just now on my web site I couldn't pull anything up...crap.
I'll try to remember to post something when it's fixed. FYI, I have to run 3/8" spacers, which is no big deal. I screwed them to the back of the wheel so you don't even realize they are there during installation/removal, and if the studs are properly torqued the spacer has no effect on strength or durability of the wheel or suspension.
