I have a rochester carburetor 69 stock on a 350/300 and adjusted the fast idle to specifications and now my curb idle has increased by 300 rpm's. Are the two related? Should the curb idle be affected by the fast idle adjustment?
If the fast idle was set on the wrong choke cam lobe, you could see this effect. I also wait until my engine is completely warmed up before making the fast idle adjustment. My fast idle will climb 200-400 rpm between the initial start and start +2 minutes. The choke flap should probably be set in the 'cold start' position while making the adjustment too as it also changes the a/f mixture.
