Not sure if this should be here or in General but it is technical. Mods can move if necessary.
I have come across a set of rear end gears but don't know if they will fit in my 68. My present rear diff has 3:70's and want to know if the following will fit.
They are US Gears the Crown has 42 teeth and the Pinion has 13. That makes it a 3:23 doesn't it? They came out of an Eaton Posi Diff. Couldn't find any #'s on them but the box had written on it: WJG9F350 and C90Z4209A. Don't know if these are the #'s for these pieces or the ones they replaced.
There was not a factory Corvette 68-79 3.23 ratio.
Thanx Ganey, I was pretty sure there was no 3.23 back then but will THESE gears fit into my rear diff? I'm not sure if I am even going to USE these gears; (another post later) I just want to know if they will fit.
Thanx Kevin, I knew someone would have a cross reference for the #. So the guys car (71 camaro) had a ford 9" in it? AND it won't fit into my rear diff right?

The Camaro did not come w/ Ford 9" however that's a strong rear end that is used to replace weaker rear ends for drag racing & the stock gears like 3.23 would be discarded. Right.
Yes, Corvette gears are specific & you should be leary of unknowns selling "Corvette" gears.
