Frame Rot
Some of the reproduction frame pieces by several different companies are not very good quality and would be careful about going the aftermarket route. Almost any work you have done to your frame by a reputable frame shop will be financially more efficient than replacing your current frame. Especially since your rot is along the frame rails, which are one of the easiest pieces to splice and weld. It seems people selling whole frames these days are rather proud of them and tend to think there is more of a demand for what they have than what there really is. I'm having extensive work done on mine and several pieces re-fitted for a considerable less amount than it would cost if I went to the replacement route. There are many ways and means to get a hold of side pieces for your frame...many have been splice and diced and can find pieces you should be able to use. Use the search engine for frames, there was thread on this not a week ago and several vendors listed who can help. :seeya
I purchased a frame from Vette Masters in VA beach in September. I paid $350.00 for the frame. $82.00 shipping. I picked it up in orlando at SouthEastern Freight. I had already had my car at the frame shop and they charged me to lie to me. I feel alot better that I replaced the frame. Piece of Mind!!!!!
