Default Sending Unit Location for TH400?

1. Where would I install a temp sending unit in my TH400?

2. I have the trans out of my car and it could use a new oil pan gasket while I'm at it, can I roll the trans on its back do to this? The fluid is already drained but I want to make sure I wont be damaging anything by leaving it on its back for a day or so?

Thanks!!

While you have the pan off, you could weld a bung in for the sender and a drain plug too.

Do you know if they make a gasketed fitting that just requires drilling a hole in the pan instead? My pan is aluminum and I dont have a tig welder.. I suppose I could installl it in the output line of the trans but dont know where to find a NPT "T" fitting or a barbed T fitting.. Any links would be appreciated..

This might work depending on the thickness of your pan,
