Default How to remove Stingray Emblems

1975 Corvette Coupe.

Stingray emblems on the side of the front fenders. Is there a good way to remove them without breaking them?

Mine were hold on with sticky tape and 3 or 4 pins, try some floss or fishing wire to break the seal. You'll have to work around the pins. PG.

Take a moment to check whether someone has put a couple of speed nuts on the studs because the adhesive was failing. That way you won't break the emblem by accident with the floss.
Regards,
Alan

I can see one each speed nut on both of the emblems, left and right side of car. Cannot spot the other ones.

You should be able to put your hand down in the fender well and feel for the pins and nuts that may, or may not, be there. I believe that the rear pin on each emblem is far enough to the rear that it can't be accessed at all.
Regards,
Alan

The rear nuts do not seem to be accessible. I really hate the idea of breaking the pin to take them off. hmmm.

The 75' AIM doesn't show any nuts at all, just the foam tape. I removed the ones on my 78' with fishing line and Goo Gone. Soak the emblem with the Goo Gone then use the fish line to 'saw' your way around the emblem. If yours has nuts, then someone has already taken them off (was the car repainted at some time?). Who knows, if you remove the nuts you can see, they might come right off.

Yes it has been repainted before I purchased the car in 1980. Thank everyone for the help!

Hi Papa,
I didn't explain carefully enough.
What I was trying to say was that there were never nuts on the rear pins because even at St Louis there was no access to the pin. Duke is right you can only remove the nuts you see.
Regards,
Alan
