As you can see from another post I made ( http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...s-of-pics.html ) I noticed that he double stacked the rubber bushings on #1 and #4. I found out why today. I took the one busing on 1 and 4 out and they sit about 3/8 high from the one that is still there. I took at look at 2 and 3 and they both sit on the frame firm. Is this a common problem when installing a rocker insert? What do I need to do to get the body to sit on all the mounts. Here are some pics I took of 1 and 2.
Redwingvette if you could spread some wisdom I would appreciate it!
I am not sure what you have there. It looks like the inserts may have been welded in without making sure they were solid against the old rocker channel parts that were left in.
What does the inside door post look like? Can you see a gap around the inserts that may have let the #1 move up?
Here are some pics I took the other day. How would I go about fixing this? I am just going to shim it up right now and press with getting the motor running but I do eventually want to get to the bottom of this. The first pic shows the gap on 1.
When I installed mine I completely removed the old channel so the replacements could fit flush up against the glass. All 4 corners of mine sat flush on the mounts. I also used 4x4s under the floor on both sides and had the nose supported to help support the body weight evenly.
It almost looks like something was twisted when it was welded up on yours for it to be sitting that high off the mount?.

I have mine bolted to the mounts on the frame ready to tack then test fit before welding together then I plan to fit them to the body and weld. Do the bottom door bolt have to come out to fit the insert in the A post?
