Can anyone tell me how to adjust the fast idle on a 78? I have replaced all of the vacuum lines and now the Idle will not come down. The choke flap opens when it warms off but the idle does not come down. The regular idle screw is not touching the throttle arm.
If it was OK before you changed the vacuum lines, you may now have a vacuum leak someplace. Pull the vacuum hose that comes off the manifold and goes to the vacuum tank and plug the manifold port. If it idles OK, then you have a vacuum leak someplace.
If you have AC, there should be a solenoid on the side of the carb that increases idle speed when the AC is on check to see if it is holding the carb linkage open (step 15 in the pic below).

you have something binding in the fast idle linkage especially if the fast idle cam is still engaged when the choke is off....
Fast idle adjustment is not your problem. Once the choke is open, the fast idle cam should be disengaged. As stated before, you probably have a vacuum leak causing the problem.
