battery won't hold charge
When my 80 vette sits for more than a week, the battery loses charge. I think the clock or radio are draining the battery. Have any ideas to correct or advice on battery protectors, i.e.priority start?

Do a thread search about this subject. There have been many posts with exact detailed troubleshooting info about hooking up a meter or trouble test lamp thru one of the terminals and pulling fuses until either the light goes out or the meter quits showing voltage draw.

The clock or radio should not discharg a battery, there is most likly another source grounding somewhere, or the battery is very old and you may just need a new one. If your sure its good and can't find the drain you can always use a switch on the battery and cut all power when not needed.

I would get the battery load checked to make sure its good and not discharging itself .... if the battery checks out next thing to check is the alternator, sometimes they well discharge the battery but still be putting out charge... hope this helps

Just had similar problem with my 78 after hours and most of the car torn appart I traced the problem to the anti theft system accidentally being set off and since the previous owner had removed the theft horn, obviously I did not know it was going off other than after a week or so my battery would be drained. Just a suggestiontop check.
