Installing halfshafts that had new U-joints intalled. I already have everything in the rear end bolted in; when I put the passenger side halfshaft in, it was tight and flush, no issue there. When I put the driver's side in, there was about a 1/4in gap between the trrailing arm flange and the halfshaft flange. Is this a problem?
No problem...once you bolt it up. The half-shaft is part of the rear suspension system, so the wheel might move in or out some with the shaft disassembled. Now, that doesn't mean that you might not have some other 'issue' with a trailing arm....

If you have new trailing arm shims any shop will correct the toe and camber in just minutes, old trailing arm shims (as you know) are difficult to remove and no shop has replacements. PG.
The old shims were not very corroded at all so I installed new ones exactly as the old ones, So I'm good there. I suppose when I bring it down I'll bring my extra new ones and they will redo it to correct for variances in the halfshafts and trailing arms?
