Default Value question

If a repro power steering set up for like a 71 goes for $775 How much do yuo think a good complete system from a BB 71 would be worth?

I'm assuming that you mean "used"...which would mean "not very much". Used pieces like that are found in most junk yards; and you'd have to rebuild them all in either case. A used P.S. pump, control valve and piston can be had for somewhere between $50-100 is my best guess. The $800 new set-up is for cars without P.S. but deemed to need it. The car is likely modded out so the owner wants something 'nice' looking...instead of 30-year-old hardware. I really can't imagine anyone else wanting to pay much for stock used parts.

Check the 2nd post in my FS thread to see what Kevin of vettebydesign had to say.

Some would rather have original parts even if it meant rebuilding them.

Thanks for the info. I would say, this was a good working system. I am parting this car out because of rust in the windshield frame and fiberglass damage to a modified body with the original BB missing so no place to go with this car. I just sold the VERY Nice frame from under and now will part all the rest out.
I can't believe that the junk yards are FULL of complete 71 power steering setups. Yes new is nice. Original is also nice though .
After reading the link for the setup sold, I believe I'll go that route. Maybe even a little less, mine is very clean. Steering box nice and tight so I guess there will be a bit of interest. If not here maybe I'll go to the NCRS driveline and see.
But thank both for your time and imput. I now have an idea of pricing.
