1979-- I am having a problem with the safety belt light, the belts are working, whenever I bucled up the ground is cut at the belt but the light stays on. the problem seems to be in the fuse box but I am not sure, I only have one of those metal fuses and there is to spaces open
on the right hand side of the fuse box, If I switch the fuse to the bottom the light goes off permanently and if I put in the top the light stays on all the time... Am I missing something in the fuse box?
Thanks for the help...
Not much to the wiring circuit. Could be a bad buzzer warning unit (the part that plugs into the fuse box. Page 2 is a short trouble shooting writeup that may help you. Does the key buzzer work correctly?
Wow, I never would have imagined I was missing that many parts. I do not have the buzzer, for sure, because since I got the car It never had a thing plugged into the four holes where the buzzer goes according to this diagram. And it seems as if it is no easy fix because the car does not have the plug at the bottom C122,
The info I posted was from a 79' GM Service Manual, so yours should look just like it. The buzzer units have been know to go bad, and I don't think you can buy a replacement anyplace but eBay. The PO must have tossed it. My 78' didn't have the extra plug in thingy (C122) and the buzzer itself only had 4 connections instead of 6 like yours. Don't know what C122 does.
