Starting problems......
If you add gas instead of starting fluid it should start just fine. Sounds like you have a bit of a fuel leak to me.

That's a new one on me.
Seriously, if once you get the car started, it runs fine, the problem is not getting gas from the tank to your carb. Think about it, if you had a problem getting gas from the tank to the carb, would the engine run right? No.
Like I said a bunch of posts back. If your car starts and runs fine all day, then you let it sit overnight and it won't start, but then with hand priming it starts, your problem is one of two things:
1. The pump on the side of your carb that squirts the gas for priming is beat or improperly installed.
2. Your carburetor has dried out overnight and there is no gas in the bowl for the pump to squirt down the carb.
We can determine if it is #1 or not quite simply. When cold, you say that there is no shot of priming gas. So, prime the engine by hand, start it and let it run for a few minutes to be sure there is gas in the bowl of the carb. Then, turn off the engine, look down the carb and open the throttle fully. If you see gas, your pump is fine and your problem is #2 above. If you don't see gas, I would replace the diaphram in your pump and see if the problem goes away.

I know. Lol I tried atleast. He is in nc. Im in ohio right now with his car. I understand mildly whats wrong. Right now I know enough to tell him. Then I have a feeling this will mean tearing apart the carb. Thanks
